Homemade Chocolate Sauce

ingredients:


*1/2 cup granulated sugar
*1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
*1/2 cup light corn syrup
*1/4 cup half-and-half or evaporated milk
*2 tablespoons butter or margarine
*1/2 teaspoon vanilla


making:


1- In a small saucepan, stir together the sugar, cocoa powder, corn syrup and half-and-half. 

2- Set over medium heat and cook until mixture comes to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes. 

3- Remove sauce from heat and add butter and vanilla, stirring until the butter melts. 

4- Cool to warm or room temperature before using or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. The chocolate sauce can be reheated in the microwave.
